Honor The Fallen

As the number of deaths in the Global War on Terror continues to rise, the numbers overshadow the people themselves. This disturbing trend led David Cruz to take action. In January 2005, Mr. Cruz began Honor the Fallen as a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring the warriors who have died fighting in the War on Terror. Mimicking the AIDS memorial quilt effort, Mr. Cruz is contacting loved ones of fallen soldiers and creating personalized 3 foot by 6 foot quilts for each fallen soldier. These will be combined into larger grids of 8 quilts each. These grids will be on tour around the country in the future. Mr. Cruz’s dedication to honoring each fallen soldier and humanizing the numbers on the nightly news is humbling. Take a moment to check out his fantastic website. Here is a local news program about Honor The Fallen.

Mr. Cruz is a sharp man who speaks with such sincerity that one is awestruck in his presence. I publicly thank him for taking the time to come to the YRNC last week. And I strongly encourage everyone to stop reading Rove-stories for a few minutes to read about Honor The Fallen and check out this informational news program. And if you are as moved as I, take a moment to see if you can help in any way.

Thanks for posting this information.  I think it helps our fighting men to know that we will be there for their families.
